These things are a tad intimidating… What shall I say about myself?
I am loved and adored by Father in heaven. I am redeemed and restored by the blood of Jesus. And there is nowhere I would rather be than firmly held in the hands of my Savior. I am learning to live as the best Emily I can day by day because that is who I was created to be. I was fearfully created to be exactly who I am because that is the best way that I can live out the life that has been put in front of me.
I am married to an amazing man who loves me more than I deserve. A man who I adore entirely. We are living the dream in the same town we attended college in. It is a little town on the coast between San Francisco and Los Angeles. A little town that happened to be voted the “happiest place in America.”
We got married in the fall of 2010. The weekend of Thanksgiving. In what is said to be the oldest building in California. It was 42* and raining and it was perfect. I am one of the few people I know who doesn’t want to repeat my wedding day. Not because I didn’t like it, but because I thought that it was perfect, just the way it was. I wanted it to feel like we were gathered on the deck with our friends and family. And it did, complete with the largest dance party ever! My dad even obliged me and got one of those light machines that reflected stars on the roof of the old barn, just like in Pirates of the Caribbean. It was magical and perfect.
We bought a little cottage at the end of 2011 it was built in the 50’s and last painted/remodeled in the 70’s. Needless to say we did some work. We did a lot of work. We lived without running water for two weeks during Christmas. We lived with friends for two weeks during Christmas. Every surface in our house has been touched and tweaked in someway. We are by no means done tweaking and dreaming, but we do feel home. And that is what is most important to me. That we have created a home. A home we love and love to invite people into.
I love to read, bake, create, and decorate. We love to play with our pup, adventure and come home again. Hang out a while and get to know us.
